It follows the aspiring boxing coach-Iraqi-australian Amirah Al-Amir (Chamoun) who has idolized his entire life his world champion father Sami (Naor). While working in the family gym in Western Sydney, alongside their two brothers, Amirah negotiates a professional debut match for his tough fighter Jess O’connor (Castle-Hughes) with Sami’s promoter, Strick (Thompson).
