1946. The Władek branch did not lay down their arms. A group of several partisans is struggling with a lack of food, ammunition and support – the entire anti-communist underground is plunging into chaos. Ruda hides from the Security Office in Warsaw, tries to lead a normal life, working in the archives. Maria Konarska, employed in one of the hospitals operating in Warsaw, finds an unusual patient – an important figure from the very tops of power. Lena is raising Jaś alone. He tries to make up his life after losing Janek. He studies architecture and works at the Warsaw Reconstruction Office under the supervision of Professor Majerski. Helena is regularly summoned to the Security Service, where she meets an old acquaintance from the times of the occupation … Wanda and Bronek live in London. Bronek works as a porter, Wanda would like to connect her future with England, she counts, that she will find a job that matches her education. Bronek is not happy, he wants to fight. A meeting in a pub will turn the fate of Bronek and his wife … Celina and Michał live in Munich. Celina works as an interpreter at the Nuremberg trials, Michał deals with office matters in the representative office of the Polish Independence organization.
