Ballers (2015)

Ballers new comedy from HBO, explores the world of a group of senior footballers and a younger generation of players from the city of Miami, Florida. Although they show professionalism when it comes to football, everyone has personal problems off the field. At the head of the team is Spencer (Dwayne Johnson), the star of the football world, who is now retired and is trying to find his balance by working as a manager for current players. In Spencer’s entourage we meet Ricky (John David Washington), a talented player who seeks to balance his passion for antiques with that of football; Charles (Omar Miller), a blazing striker who retired and now struggles to adapt to civilian life; and Vernon (Donovan Carter), a player on the wave.
In an industry where the length of their career is incredibly short, Spencer and his team must discover where the game ends and where life begins, while trying to keep their cool and support each other.
